Asteroid Crashes Likely Gave Earth Its Water

Not necessarily. Water is only one tiny part of the requirements for life (as we know it). Of course it is possible, theoretically, for life to exist in other situations, but that is all we have: theory.

Before anyone points out that life on Earth has adapted for situations well outside the normal range of Earth life (high radiation or temperatures, for example), the key word there is "adapted".
