Purcell Named COO, EVP of MB Real Estate

MB Real Estate Services L.L.C. has promoted Kevin Purcell to executive vice president & COO from his previous role as executive vice president & managing director of asset management. In this new role, Purcell will be responsible for the overall operations, service delivery across each of the business lines, and client relations. Purcell, who has managed such high-profile properties as 100 North Riverside Plaza, 200 West Madison and 311 South Wacker, joined MB Real Estate in 1995. He then quickly progressed to the position of senior vice president and portfolio manager for the firm?s asset management group. In this role, Purcell directed the $125 million redevelopment of three of Chicago?s most distinct properties?One North LaSalle, One North Dearborn and 360 North Michigan. In addition, he successfully negotiated tax increment financing and Class L tax status for the properties.

Bradford Allen Promotes DeMoss to Managing Director

Andrew DeMoss has been promoted to managing director of Bradford Allen, a Chicago-based commercial real estate company. Previously a director for the firm, DeMoss joined Bradford Allen in 2005 and specializes in landlord representation for downtown Chicago office properties. He is an integral part of a team that directs the leasing for 200 South Michigan Avenue, which has leased more than 300,000 square feet since taking on the assignment in 2006. DeMoss? other notable clients include the Detroit-based Farbman Group for whom he represents 79 West Monroe and 216 West Jackson in Chicago. Most recently, DeMoss was instrumental in leasing more than 100,000 square feet of office space in a 12-month period at 79 West Monroe on behalf of the Farbman Group.

Transwestern Adds 17 Team Members in San Francisco Area

Transwestern has announced a major expansion in the East San Francisco Bay market, adding 17 team members ? including brokers, property managers and staff ? to its office located in Walnut Creek Place. The new East Bay brokerage team is led by former Grubb & Ellis Inc. managing director Edward Del Beccaro, who has more than 33 years of experience in the San Francisco Bay Area in the fields of development, property management, leasing, sales and investments. Throughout his career he has leased more than 2 million square feet of office properties. As managing director of Grubb & Ellis? Walnut Creek East Bay office, as well as its Oakland office, Del Beccaro was responsible for managing a full-service real estate team, including office, retail, industrial and medical leasing and sales, land investment, construction and project management.

Cassidy Turley Grows New York Brokerage Services

Cassidy Turley has added two new senior team members to its New York brokerage group, Robert Yaffa ? who will be an executive managing director ? and Wayne Van Aken ? who will be a vice president. Yaffa joins the firm focusing on tenant representation, space disposition and strategic planning. Representing clients across New York?s leading industries ? finance, media, legal and technology ? he was recognized by The Real Estate Board of New York for the ?Most Ingenious Deal? for his work with U.S. Customs. Additionally, Mr. Yaffa works with a significant number of multi-market clients. Yaffa joins Cassidy Turley with over 20 years of real estate experience, having most recently been executive managing director at Grubb & Ellis Inc.

Van Aken joins Cassidy Turley as vice president. In his new role, he will use his 13 years of commercial real estate experience to support existing client account growth and the pursuit of new business. Van Aken focuses on tenant representation, specifically in Midtown South, where he has closed more than 1.1 million square feet of transactions representing a variety of technology, media, communications and production companies. Prior to joining Cassidy Turley, Mr. Van Aken was managing director at Grubb & Ellis, where he provided transactional support for New York City and national projects and served as the firm?s Midtown South market specialist.

CBRE Appoints Blake as New Head of EMEA, U.K. Research

CBRE Group Inc. has appointed Dr. Neil Blake as the head of EMEA and U.K. research. Blake joins CBRE from Oxford Economics, the economic forecasting consultancy, where he was director of economic analysis. Here he had primary responsibility for the analysis of international cities and regional services, commercial property, housing and retail markets, as well as global macroeconomic and financial-sector analysis. Prior to joining Oxford Economics in 2008, Blake was a founding director of Business Strategies Limited, which became part of Experian in 2002. At CBRE, he will be responsible for both the EMEA and U.K. research teams, which are based in the company?s office at Henrietta House in London, W1. He will formally join CBRE in early August.
